Both tables are recalculated from your own date when the page loads.

How the date is worked out

Days and weeks are simple: the calculator adds that many days (a week is 7) to the start date and reads off the calendar. Months and years are calendar steps instead. One month after the 15th is the 15th of the next month, whatever its length. When the target month is too short, the date stops at its last day.

Result = start date + n days (or + n calendar months)

A quick check you can do in your head: 7, 14, 21 or 28 days from today is always the same weekday as today. 30 days is two weekdays later, 90 days is six weekdays later (because 90 = 12 weeks + 6 days), and 365 days is one weekday later.

Questions people ask

What date is 90 days from today?

Look at the 90-day row in the table above, or type 90 in the calculator. The answer changes every day, so the table is recalculated from your device’s date each time the page opens.

Is today counted as day 1?

No. Today is day 0, tomorrow is day 1. So “30 days from today” lands on the same weekday as 2 days from today, four weeks and two days later. This is the usual rule for deadlines such as “payment due within 30 days”, but check the wording of any contract, because some count the first day.

What is the difference between adding 1 month and adding 30 days?

Adding a month moves to the same day number in the next month (March 15 to April 15), whatever the month length. Adding 30 days counts every day, so from January 31 it lands on March 2 in a common year. If a month is shorter, adding a month stops at its last day: January 31 plus one month is February 28 (29 in a leap year).

How do I count only business days?

This calculator counts every calendar day, including weekends. To skip weekends and public holidays, use the business days calculator and choose “Add working days”.

Can I find a date in the past?

Yes. Choose “Subtract” or type a negative number. The second table lists common dates in the past, such as 30, 90 and 180 days ago.
